St. Andrew's
The late 14th century church, dedicated to God in honour of St Andrew, stands at the heart of the old village of Langford. Sunday worship is at 9.15am (9.30am on the 3rd Sunday of the month). Last year, medieval wall paintings were discovered during preparations for redecoration and the PCC is seeking advice on their possible restoration. The Sunday School meets in the Church Hall during the first part of each service. A Searchlights group (for children 5-9 years) meets every Friday of term time at 3.30pm in the church or hall. The Vicar and congregation wait to welcome you. Gift Day raises approx £5500. Church Open for visitors The church is open for visitors on the second Sunday afternoon of each month from 2:00p.m to 4:00p.m during June, July and August. Searchlights - is a group of 4 to 9 year olds which meets on Friday afternoons in term time, from 3.30pm until 4.30pm in either the church hall or the church. The Searchlights programme includes stories, activities and music and follows the themes of the Sunday Eucharist. Parents and Toddlers can use the children's area at the back of the north aisle at any time. New Doors - have been installed at the main entrance from the south porch into the south aisle. These doors, a memorial gift, are made of English oak with glass panels. The panels are etched with the cross of St Andrew and the St Albans Diocesan coat of arms. Friday Morning Coffee – You will be most welcome to drop-in for coffee and excellent cakes any Friday morning in the Church Hall. They start at about 10.30am and is staffed by adults with learning difficulties in our area. Your support would really encourage them!
